CAMERON Belford has gone straight in to the starting line-up for Southend United’s Capital One Cup clash at Peterborough United this evening.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper, who joined on loan from Bury earlier today, has been named between the sticks.
But Ryan Cresswell (ankle) and Gavin Tomlin (ankle) have both been ruled and that means Anthony Straker is the only other summer signing to be named in the side at London Road.
Straker will feature on the left hand side of midfield, with Luke Prosser at left-back.
Ryan Leonard will partner Kane Ferdinand in the centre of the park while Elliot Benyon has been preferred to Freddy Eastwood in attack next to Neil Harris.
Youth team striker Seedy Njie has also been selected among the substitutes but there is no place for David Martin who has a foot problem.
Southend United: Belford, Clohessy, Phillips, Barker, Prosser, Hall, Ferdinand, Leonard, Straker, Benyon, Harris
Substitutes: Bentley, Coughlan, Eastwood, Hurst, Woodyard & Njie
