ROCHFORD born Jonty Clark played a prominent part in Great Britain’s men’s hockey team’s 2-2 draw with South Africa in the Olympic Games today.

Clarke was used as a rolling substitute in attack at the Riverbank Arena.

But Britain were made to work hard for the draw.

They opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Ashley Jackson converted a penalty corner.

However, with 10 minutes remaining, South Africa scored twice in quick succession with Austin Smith and Jonathan Robinson both on target.

But Jackson rescued a point for Britain when he converted from close range with just two minutes left.

The point keeps Jason Lee’s side second in their group, with the top two progressing through to the quarter finals of the competition.

They are back in action against Pakistan on Friday with the match starting at 4pm.
