TWO overnight road closures will take place as roadworks at the Progress Road junction of the A127 continue.
Work to install sensor loops which will help keep traffic moving will mean full road closures on the A127, Progress Road and The Fairway.
From 8pm on Thursday night to 5am on Friday, the A127 will be closed eastbound from Rayleigh Weir to Progress Road, with a diversion in place along Eastwood and Rayleigh Road.
On Friday night, the A127 will be closed between 8pm and 5am Saturday for works between Progress Road and Bellhouse Lane, with a diversion via Rayleigh Road to Kent Elms corner.
Southend Council said it was aware the works had led to some disruption for residents and motorists, and said it appreciated people's patience while the scheme continues.
The work is currently on schedule to finish in March.
