One of the main routes into Rayleigh has re-opened after it was closed to let the air ambulance land.
The A129 High Road was shut off in both directions between Rayleigh Weir and Glasseys Lane for the air ambulance to land, from about 10am to midday.
The helicopter had to be scrambled to a person that had been taken ill in the street.
Essex Police have confirmed there is nothing suspcious to the incident, and their only involvement was to shut off the road.
