Southend Standard: Police ask for help over missing Southend man Police ask for help over missing Southend man

POLICE are continuing to search for a man who went missing from his Southend home amid growing concern for his safety.

Mark Barnes, 36, is believed to have left his Norwich Avenue home on Sunday on ‘GIANT’ mountain bike and his family contacted police after becoming concerned for his welfare when he did not return.

Police and coastguards mounted a search of the area but have failed to find any clues as to what may have happened to him.

Officers say his family is growing increasingly concerned for his welfare.

Mark is 5ft 8ins tall, has dark brown hair, is of medium build and has blue eyes. Police are urging anyone who has information on his whereabouts, or Mark himself, to contact them.

They are also asking the public to look out for the black and grey bike which Mr Barnes was riding.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at Southend on 101 or 999 if Mr Barnes is seen.

Might help to know what trail he was planning to take, as generally real cyclists who dont wear lycra and cut infront of lorries plan their off road route. Might be a good place to start!

Well he seems to be riding a major brand of mountain cycle, that I doubt he just uses for road use. Did he have any planned trails to attend in the local area?
Might be the best place to ask, I hope this man is found well, and without injury.
