Jewellery stolen in Rayleigh break-in

Police are appealing for witnesses and information in relation to a break-in at a house in Rayleigh.

Thieves forced the front door of the house in Link Road before carrying out an untidy searchand stealing jewellery.

It is believed they were disturbed by the residents returning before escaping by a rear door which was also forced.

Amaroon coloured Citroen vehicle was seen driving off from the location at speed.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area between 2pm and 3pm on Wednesday  February 6 or the Citroen car is asked to call Essex Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
