Lifeboat rescued stranded Sea Life Centre staff near Southend Pier

THE lifeboat hovercraft rescued four Sea Life Centre staff stranded near the end of Southend Pier.

Thames Coastguard received a call from the workers after they got cut off by the tide at about 8am yesterday.

The Southend RNLI Hovercraft rescued the staff members and left them in the care of Southend Coastguard at the shore, who gave safety advice.

Well give us a bit more information then. Why were they out there? Was it something they have to do regularly as part of their jobs? Though if it was something they have to do often you would think they would be aware of the times of the tide.
