A ROAD had to be closed off after a car accident in Basildon which left a man with spinal injuries.
The incident on the Luncies Road junction of Timberlog Lane happened today at 2.15pm when a green Ford Fiesta and a red Skoda Octavia collided into each other.
Police were called to the road and took the decision to close off the surrounding area, including the nearby Vange Railway Bridge, while paramedics and two fire crews from Basildon attended the scene.
It is believed the male driver of the Skoda suffered spinal injuries and had to be cut out by firerighters from his car.
