THE Green Party has taken a seat from the Tories in Rochford.
Michael Hoy won the Rochford West seat.
He beat Tory Keith Hudson, also a Rochford district councillor, by 400 votes.
Mr Hoy, a Rochford district councillor for Hullbridge, said: “Hullbridge was very busy and people know I work hard.
“I will continue to work hard for them in the future.”
The Tories lost two seats in the district - Rochford West and Rayleigh South to Ukip.
