A WOMAN once described as Canvey’s most wanted has admitted being part of a conspiracy to burgle up to 53 homes.
Lindsay Hilden, 35, broke into dozens of homes between November 12 last year and February 2. She is of no fixed address but understood to be from the island.
Hilden, who also goes under the alias of Lindsay West, appeared at Basildon Crown Court on Friday.
She admitted conspiracy to burgle. The count contains multiple break-ins - the majority of which are thought to have taken place on Canvey.
Hilden admitted another single charge of burglary at an address in Silvertown Avenue, Stanford-le-Hope, between January 1 and January 14.
During that burglary, car keys, a wallet and a handbag were stolen.
Claire Morris, prosecuting, said Hilden struck at a number of other properties, estimated to be a total of 53.
She said: “There are a large number of burglaries in count one - there are 53 properties- carried out in a fairly short period of time.”
Other burglars took place in Thurrock, Romford and Barking. Recorder Philip Brooke-Smith QC adjourned the case so that a pre-sentence report can be prepared for Hilden.
She will return to the court on Monday, April 24.
