POLICE have warned guests a scheduled music festival due to take place tomorrow has been cancelled.

The Rastafari Way event at Morbec Farm, off the A127 near Wickford, had been billed as a 24-hour celebration featuring live music acts and family entertainment.

But the event has been cancelled as the organisers did not hold a licence for it.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "An event had been advertised to take place at Morbec Farm off the A127 at ‪#‎Wickford‬ on Saturday, July 23.

"The landowner has been spoken to and has cancelled the One Love Foundation UK music event with the organisers as it was unlicensed.

"We are however aware that some of the advertising is still live making it appear that this event is happening.

"We would like to make it clear to anyone planning to attend this event that it will not be taking place at Morbec Farm tomorrow."

Writing on the event's Facebook page, organiser Chay Godfree said: "We are truly sorry for this.

"Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances this event has to be postponed until further notice.

"We are very sorry and we really want this to happen. Please forgive us. All donations will be returned as soon as possible.

"We give thanks for your support and please believe when we say Rastafari Way will happen."
