PHARMACISTS are urging people to check their weight and take a blood test to see if they are at risk of diabetes.
People are advised to check their body mass index, which measures weight against height, and pop into a pharmacy to check their blood glucose levels if they are overweight or at risk for another reason.
Fizz Haji, of Belfairs Pharmacy in Eastwood Road North, Leigh, said: “Getting your blood glucose checked can be an important step in identifying if you are at risk of type 2 diabetes.
“It’s a quick and easy process, people don’t need an appointment.”
