THOUSANDS of people are expected to descend on Billericay for a paintballing championship.
Organisers behind the Campaign Cup believe it will boost the local economy and have picked Billericay for the finals once again, with Barleylands being the chosen venue.
They are expecting 1,400 team members from across the world to take part in the competition.
James Gregory, UK sales manager of Celtic Paintball, which has organised the championship, said: “This is the biggest paintball tournament held on UK soil.
“As round three of the championship we are pushing to make this the biggest yet.”
Mr Gregory said they were hoping to create a party atmosphere when the event takes place between Sunday, July 6 and Tuesday, July 8.
People will be able to camp on site with bars and food available.
Entrance to the event will be free.
