A LANE of the A13 was blocked after a crash involving three vehicles just after the Pitsea flyover.

The smash happened at about 5.45pm on the London-bound side of the dual carriageway when a car went into the central reservation barrier.

Two other vehicle then crashed into it causing a lane blockage and delays along the road.

Queues also built up on neighbouring roads including Cranes Farm Road in Basildon and along the A130 towards the Fairglen Interchange.

The vehicles were recovered and the lane reopened just after 7.30pm.

Trouble is it's a no win situation, since the road improvements, people drive along at break neck speeds 80 - 90 MPH are common, then an accident, other vehicles are on top of them in seconds, I say reduce the limits along there to 50 MPH, with cameras, it'll save lives and reduce the road noise, suffered by those residents living nearby.

Pretty much like me. If you don't crash I don't see what the problem is. I speed everyday without fail. Usually it's not even intentional, I don't even know that i'm doing it. I would lose the will too drive if I had to stick to the speed limits all the time. I can quite comfortably drive at over 100mph and not even think twice about it. Get a move on!!
