9 hurt in Westcliff bus crash
8:05pm Thursday 29th November 2012 in Echo News
NINE people were hurt in a bus crash.
The woman bus driver and a passenger were among those who needed treatment at Southend Hospital.
The crash, involving a number 29 bus and a Lexus, happened in Westbourne Grove, Westcliff, at its junction with Fairfax Drive, at about 11.15am.
Four bus passengers were placed on spinal boards as a precaution, but their injuries are not thought to be serious.
The passenger side of the blue Lexus RX400 and the driver’s side of the bus were badly damaged.
Firefighters were called as fluid was seen leaking from the red single-decker bus, but it turned out to be coolant from the radiator.

Since when do Arriva have any red buses? That aside, I wish the injured passengers & driver speedy recoveries.

I wrote to the Council Highways Department just 2 weeks ago to complain about the timing at these traffic lights - I hope this had nothing to do with this accident
