Police warn homeowners to secure property after incident in Lydford Road, Southend

POLICE issue warning after an attempted burglary in Southend.
A burglar tried to break into a house in Lydford Road, Southend, at about midday on November 8.
The suspect entered through an insecure porch door before forcing open the front door. He was then heard by the occupant and fled empty handed. The homeowner got a fleeting glance of him and describes him as wearing a multicoloured, possibly chequered shirt and a black woolly hat.
Police are reminding people to keep their doors double-locked.
Anyone who remember seeing the man running away or has any other information is asked to contact Dc Paul Brown at the Southend Target Offenders team on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
