PUPILS from a Hockley school have entertained visitors at a day centre through carols and Christmas artwork.
The 25 children, who are all pupils at Plumberow Primary Academy, in Hamilton Gardens, sang a series of Christmas carols for the Hockley and Hawkwell Day Centre, in Southend Road, before producing instruments and inviting their audience to join in with the musical fun.
They also brought along their own Christmas artwork they had made previously to brighten up the walls and help bring festive joy to those who visit the centre, followed by handing out cards to residents and having a chat with them.
Tom Bottrill, headteacher at Plumberow Primary School, said: “Our pupils loved visiting the Hockley and Hawkwell Day Centre and spending some time with the residents there, as well as joining in some festive songs together.”
He adds the school is looking at other ways to work with the day centre in the future to build up the relationship.
