With the school holidays underway and parents looking to treat their children despite the cost-of-living crisis a plush south Essex restaurant has introduced a special offer.

During the summer, families can head to celebrity chef Marco Pierre White’s restaurant at The Holiday Inn, Brook Street, where their children can eat for free.

With similar offers during the Easter and half term holidays proving popular, the New York Italian restaurant is offering anyone who fancies tucking into a meal devised by the TV personality, to do so without worrying about the cost of their child’s meal.

The offer applies to under 12s and includes either a starter and main or main and dessert with every paying adult main off the à la carte menu.

James Barkhouse, general manager, said: “We ran similar offers during the Easter and half term holidays earlier in the year and are always popular. For mums and dads, the chance to let someone else do the cooking as well as the clearing and washing up will be quite appealing while kids just love being taken out for a meal in a restaurant.

“It’s also a great way for children to learn how to behave in an environment where there are other people enjoying a meal out and is great for developing social skills especially when they are asked what they’d like to eat and drink by the waiting staff.

“Marco’s philosophy on eating out is about simple, authentic food, served in a great environment with a relaxed atmosphere. We serve classic, recognisable dishes that sit perfectly with his ethos of casual, authentic and affordable dining.

“The menus are also perfect for kids with pasta, fish and chips and steaks on the menu. There’s also a host of vegetarian options, so parents won’t have to worry about there not being anything that they like.”
