A hugely popular free festival returns to Leigh next month for its 31st event - and the line-up has been revealed this week.

This year's Leigh Folk Festival will be held from June 22 to 25 at Leigh Library Gardens and surrounding venues with four days of free entertainment.

The event is the UK's largest free folk festival and draws in tens of thousands of revellers with music, dance, spoken word, comedy, food, crafters, workshops and more.

More than 100 free performances are set to be enjoyed by festival-goers across six stages.

Visitors can also attend a special intimate ticketed evening concert and open-air comedy gala, which are not to be missed.

The full line-up has been announced this week which includes headliners She'koyokh, Ex-Easter Island Head, Johnny Butler and Alex Olivia, and Kadialy Kouyate.

Welsh multi-instrumentalist Gwenifer Raymond will also be performing as well as Evan Parker and Alex Ward, Khiyo, Emily Portman and Rob Harbron, The Servants' Ball, Guise, Maria Uzor, Seaming To, Gabriel Moreno, and Calming River.
