TERRIFIED car showroom staff were forced to open a safe by two men in a knifepoint robbery.
Police officers were called to the Eastwood and Shoeburyness Car Centre, in Rayleigh Road, Eastwood, shortly after 4pm on Saturday.
They were responding to reports two men had entered the premises with a knife before forcing the staff to open a safe containing cash.
Essex Police confirmed officers are working to identify the assailants, one of whom was wearing a navy baseball cap, white coat, and white trainers.
The second man was wearing all back with white trainers.
Officers investigating the terrifying incident have urged anyone with information or footage relating to the robbery to come forward.
The car garage is close to Toolstation and The Bellhouse pub.

An Essex Police spokesperson said: “We are investigating a robbery at a car showroom in Eastwood.
“It was reported two men went into the Eastwood and Shoeburyness Car Centre, in Rayleigh Road, at around 4.15pm on Saturday, May 20.
“One of the men had a large knife.
“The pair forced staff to open a safe and they made off with a three-figure sum of cash.
“Inquiries are ongoing to identify the two men.”
Describing the crooks, they added: “The first man is described as tall and slim and wearing a navy baseball cap, a white coat with a tick on the side, black skinny tracksuit trousers, and white trainers.
“The other man is described as being of average build and wearing all black with a black baseball cap and white trainers with a gold tick while also carrying a shopping bag.”
Launching their appeal for information, the police spokesman continued: “If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
“Please quote incident 959 of May 20.”
