More than 600 walkers have raised tens-of-thousands of pounds for charity.
Participants in the Moonlight Colourthon, which took place around Southend on Saturday, July 7, have raised more than £84,000, plus Gift Aid, for 134 different charitable organisations.
The total brings the combined amount raised by the Moonlight Colourthon in 12 events to almost £1.6 million for hundreds of charity both Southend-based and national.
Walkers dressed head to toe in an array of rainbow outfits set out from Chalkwell Park at around 6pm on the day, taking part in a group warm up ahead of the 13-mile walking challenge throughout the evening, with the final participants coming in at around midnight.
Registration for next year’s event will open January 1, 2019, and is open to anyone walking for any registered charity.
