Two Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) from Southend Community Policing Team located and helped a man after he left hospital before receiving treatment.
On Monday, April 9, PCSO Steve Hollands and PCSO Carol Fox were called to Southend Hospital after staff were concerned about a patient who left before receiving mental health treatment.
After searching the nearby area, Steve and Carol headed towards his home to find him. They found the man at home where he was threatening to harm himself.
They spoke to the man for a while before he agreed to return to hospital for medical treatment.
Steve and Carol gathered his personal items for him and two officers drove him to hospital.
PCSO Steve Hollands from Southend Community Policing Team, said: “As part of our job, every day we deal with people in crisis.
“We’re pleased we were able to find him, keep him safe and return him to hospital for treatment.”
