A BULPHAN singer is preparing to release a brand new album.

Following his BBC Radio 2 playlisted single ‘Tell Me’, soul singer Frankie Oliver returns with a brand new album - ‘Here I Am’ out on Friday on Good Deeds Music.

Mr Oliver promises it to be “a timeless 12-Track collection of authentically crafted soul songs written straight from the heart”. He said: “I love making music. And I love my wife and family, I just want to express how I feel about them and the world, everything rolled into one. This album is my truth.”

Highlights include ‘Gone Are The Days’, ‘Man At My Window’ and the aforementioned BBC Radio 2 playlisted single, ‘Tell Me’. Mr Oliver says the new single, ‘Cos of You’ is one of the album’s most heartfelt moments, sounding like a long lost soul classic from the 60s.

He said: “It’s straight from the heart, it’s about losing my mother. I couldn’t finish it because I became too emotional, so changed the lyrics around a little to take it elsewhere but the essence of song remains - if I could do it all again I wouldn’t change a thing other than to have my mother in my life forever.”

Mr Oliver’s career began when he was signed to Island Records by Trevor Wyatt in the early 1990s, and was whisked off to Jamaica to record his debut album, but claimed the pop-star lifestyle and major-label politics “did not agree with him” and took work as a black cab driver.

Fast forward to 2017, and Mr Oliver is embarking on his comeback.
