A CYCLIST attempted to rob a teenager as she walked through a park talking on her phone.
The 17-year-old victim, from Basildon, was talking on her mobile phone while walking through Gloucester Park, close to Blake Avenue in Basildon, at around 10.30am on January 14.
She was then approached by a man on a bike who attempted to snatch the phone as he rode beside her. His actions caused the phone to strike the victim in the face before falling to the floor and breaking.
The suspect is described as a white male, aged in his early 20s, and of skinny build. He was wearing a light grey hooded top, a black scarf with a white pattern, black bottoms possibly skinny jeans or jogging bottoms and black gloves.
The bike is described as black with two blue stripes on the frame.
The incident happened on the southern side of the park close to a small footbridge that crosses a stream.
Anyone with information is asked to call Basildon CID on 101.
