TWO burglars have admitted breaking into two Rayleigh homes within half an hour.
Unemployed pair Mark Barrett, 37, of Southbourne Grove, Westcliff, and Lewis Richards, 20, of Pantile Avenue, Southend, were arrested in Rayleigh on Tuesday and each charged with two counts of burglary in Rayleigh.
They admitted the charges at Southend Magistrates’ Court yesterday and were remanded in custody until they can be sentenced on Wednesday, May 4.
The charges relate to a break-in at a home in Bull Lane, Rayleigh, shortly before 4.45am, in which a handbag and its contents were stolen, and another in Warwick Road at about 5.20am in which nothing was stolen.
