DAMARCUS BEASLEY has urged Rangers not to take their eye off domestic duties when SPL new boys Gretna come calling tomorrow.

Walter Smith's side are flying high with four league wins on the spin and a place secured in the Champions League.

But Beasley knows there has to be one final push before the season goes into a two- week break for international matters.

The USA winger said: "The championship is crucial and we've started well. It's another home game and we need three points.

"We need to keep winning. The manager has stressed that to us from the very start, and we were very aware how important it was to get a run of victories.

"I don't know too much about Gretna, but from what I've read, it appears they may have been a bit unlucky in some games so far.

"But it's up to us - our approach has to be correct. We've had a tough week, but the confidence is high."

Beasley understood why Walter Smith opted to keep him on the bench for the 0-0 draw with Red Star that set up games against Barcelona, Lyon and Stuttgart.

He went on: "There is a big squad here and we had a certain plan of how to play the game on Tuesday night.

"I had been in Belgrade before with PSV and I knew how they played. I came on for the last 10 minutes and played a part.

"You knows it's a team game. We had our objectives, and all did our bit in getting us there.

"So far I've really enjoyed things at Rangers. I am settling in more and getting used to the style of play."
