Man 'battered with cricket bat' at Rayleigh home

A MAN was allegedly battered with a cricket bat in front of children at his Rayleigh home.
Jai Moore, 24, is alleged to have caused grievous bodily harm to Luke Bates at a house in Rayleigh.
Mr Bates suffered a broken arm, nose and fingers in the alleged attack on Saturday.
Moore appeared at Southend Magistrates’ Court yesterday also charged with drink-driving, possession of an offensive weapon and assault causing actual bodily harm.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Basildon Crown Court on October 17.
