A SHOP front has collapsed in Rayleigh High Street leading to the area to be cordoned off by firefighters.
Crews were called out to the Tile Centre at about 1pm after reports part of the building had collapsed.
Officers at the scene said "ten per cent" of the premises was damaged but no one was trapped inside.
Nobody has been injured during the incident.

Firefighters from Rayleigh Weir, Southend and Chelmsford fire stations are at the scene dealing with the wreckage.
The road is closed from the Rayleigh Weir roundabout up to the Eastwood Junction. Police are asking drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area while they make the building safe.
