Education - Huddersfield New College. Wells Blue School. University of Essex (BA Government).

Previous Occupation - Retail and merchant banking for Barclays Bank (1993-95). Barclays Bank Head Office (1995-96). Barclays Bank of Swaziland (1995-96). Sales Director for Banque Belgolaise in the Ivory Coast (1997-98). National Sales Manager for Barclays (1998). Account Director and consultant, YouGov (2000-).

Personal Overview - Replaced the well known figure Sir Teddy Taylor in 2005. Like his predecessor, he is an Eurosceptic and favours small government as well as the role of the individual. Has experience working within the Conservative party as a candidate, researcher and advisor. He set up YouGov which is a market and opinion research firm used by newspapers and business. He has been a consultant to YouGov and a Company Director.
