SOUTHEND United skipper Craig Easton wants to come back with a bang at Macclesfield Town tomorrow.

The Blues midfielder has been sidelined for almost two months with a calf problem.

But he resumed full training yesterday and could return to the starting line-up for the first round FA Cup clash at Moss Rose.

“It’s been a frustrating time for me and I can’t wait to be back,” said Easton, 31.

“I was out for longer than I thought because I aggravated the injury again but I’m back training now .

“Hopefully I won’t suffer any kind of reaction and I will be fine for the weekend.”

Southend manager Paul Sturrock has also hinted that Easton could come back in against the Silkmen, especially now Michael Timlin has been recalled by Swindon Town.

Easton has not played since the 2-1 defeat at Northampton Town in mid September.

However, he has been working hard to maintain his fitness.

“I’ve been doing plenty of work with the physio and the fitness coach to keep me in shape,” said Easton.

“It’s hard for the first couple of weeks and they’re the most boring because you can’t really do anything.

“But after that you can work on things and the aim is to come back even stronger.”
