AS EXCLUSIVELY revealed in Monday's Echo, Paul Sturrock has this morning been confirmed as Southend United's new manager.
The former Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth Argyle boss has signed a three year contract and takes over from Steve Tilson who was dismissed from his post yesterday.
Sturrock has also managed St. Johnstone, Dundee United, Southampton and Swindon Town.
And he will be assisted at Roots Hall by Tommy Widdrington.
The duo will be unveiled at a press conference at Roots Hall this morning.
