SOUTHEND Saxons will be looking to bounce back from their worst performance of the season when they host Norwich this weekend.

Southend lost 42-28 to Woodford last time out.

And prop forward Tom Reeman is now seeking a vastly improved performance as Saxons bid to bounce back at Warners Bridge.

“Saturday was our worst performance of the season,” said Reeman.

“We changed some bits on how we wanted to play during the week and it then didn’t go to plan.

“But we had some honest conversations on Tuesday night, we parked last Saturday and are ready to go again.”

Southend are now third in the Regional Two Anglia table with Norwich down in eighth.

However, Reeman feels the game will be tougher than the league table suggests.

“Norwich are hugely improved this season so we have to be on form,” said Reeman.

“It’s also a big day at the club being ladies day so Warners Bridge should be packed. “

Southend are now unlikely to go up this season as they sit 12 points behind table-topping Letchworth Garden City, who occupy the only promotion position, with just four games to go.

But Reeman is still keen to end the season strongly.

“It’s a tough one as promotion ultimately has got away from us," said Reeman.

"But we have to stay focused and still push to win the rest of our games just in case Letchworth at the top slip up."
