SOUTHEND United manager Sol Campbell has praised the performances of promising left-back Tom Clifford.
The 21-year-old has started the last four games for the Shrimpers.
And Campbell has been impressed by how Clifford has dealt with the demands of League One football.
"Tom has done really well and he’s got a great head on him," said Campbell.
"He’s got a bit of character about him and he’s played really well.
"The youngsters are all still learning but Tom has done really well in the last couple of games.
"He’s matured and he’s confident and calm.
"He’s gets a tackle in but he can play a bit too.
"It’s nice to see Tom do really well and it’s nice for him to be involved and playing rather than being out on loan."
