Two of Albion’s brightest prospects were last night starting life with new clubs after signing up for challenging loan deals in the Championship.
Fans are now hoping to see more additions to the senior squad – with Brentford striker Neal Maupay still among the players of interest to the Seagulls.
Young Albion central midfielder Jayson Molumby continued his impressive return from a serious knee injury with a double signing yesterday.
The Republic of Ireland under-21 midfielder penned a new two-year contract at Albion and a season-long loan deal with Millwall.
Molumby missed 15 months but made an impressive return for Albion under-23s and his country in the later weeks of last season.
Blackburn and Albion confirmed the season-long loan which takes goalkeeper Christian Walton to Ewood Park.
Both Molumby and Walton have already linked up with their new team-mates.
Albion are expected to add to their squad and it is believed those close to Maupay see them as a good fit for their player.
Glenn Murray and Florin Andone shared centre-forward duties in the pre-season friendly versus Fulham on Saturday.
Maupay, a 5ft 7in bundle of energy who finished the last Championship season with 25 goals and eight assists, would offer something different and both Aston Villa and Sheffield United have been linked with him.
