UNBEATEN London One North leaders Rochford Hundred made it 10 wins in a row with a huge 101-5 victory at Luton.

The triumph kept Rochford seven points clear at the top of the table and delighted captain Harry Hudson, who scored a hat-trick of tries.

“With some of the boys we had missing it was pleasing to see some of the younger guys get a chance and play well,” said Hudson.

“Dan Sowter and Joe Hurley both stood out for me and it was a good win.”

And Hudson was also pleased to play his part.

“The hat-trick was pleasing and I haven’t got one in men’s rugby before,” said the skipper.

“It should have been four but Ian Meads is the greediest player I’ve ever played with!”

Rochford also went through the whole of last season without losing a single game when winning the London Two North East title. But Hudson is expecting a tougher test against fifth-placed Eton Manor this weekend.

“We all know this week will be a bigger test and one where a few of the errors that happened on Saturday will mean points against us,” said Hudson, who joined Rochford in the summer.

“They’re an outfit who deserve their place in the table and won’t be taken lightly.”

However, Rochford will be heading into the clash on a high after scoring 17 tries in a dominant display against Luton.

The visitors began brightly and opened the scoring when Hurley crashed over.

Moments later, Will Ferrier added a well-taken try before his brother Adam also touched down.

Mark Billings - who lined up at centre - was the next to score before Norbertas Radzevicius, Hurley, Sowter and Hudson also touched down to make it 46-0 at the break. It was more of the same for Rochford in the second half with Hudson scoring twice more to complete his hat-trick.

Chris Shields and Ian Meads also touched down twice while Ben Johnson, Stuart Whatling and Ikhifa bagged tries too.
