MICHAEL Walther has been appointed the new joint-manager alongside Lee Connor at Basildon United.
Connor was in caretaker charge of the Bees for Saturday’s goalless draw at AFC Sudbury.
But Basildon have confirmed Walther, who has left the top job at Barkingside, will now work alongside Connor in the dugout.
Having been confirmed as joint-manager, Connor has announced he will step down as chairman, with David Maxwell taking over.
Kevin Christou and Curtis Whyte have been installed as assistant manager and first team coach respectively.
Richard Barrett will continue as the vice-chairman and club secretary of the Isthmian North high-flyers, while Andrew Buxton has been announced as the new matchday secretary.
The news comes after Marc Harrison resigned as Basildon boss eight days ago.
