ANDREW Low’s extraordinary run of form continued as he shone at the Thorpe Park half marathon.

The Benfleet Running Club member not only secured 26th place overall in the eagerly-anticipated race, but his time of 1:17:03 was enough to claim first place in the V45 category.

Michael Banham also put in an excellent performance, registered a time of 1:33:52.

Husband and wife Paul and Ann Reed crossed the line together after 1:59:00.

The Red and White contingent at the Thorpe Park half marathon was completed when Alex Brooks successfully negotiated the course in 2:07:43.

Elsewhere, tough conditions and early rain greeted Benfleet runners at the undulating Roding Valley half marathon, which attracted scores of runners from various clubs.

But the Benfleet representatives impressed on the challenging course.

Graham Douglass was the first Red and White man across the finishing line.

Douglass secured an eight minute personal best, with a time of 1:50:19.

Continuing her series of charity runs, Isla Sinclair was the next to complete the race.

Sinclair was the 26th woman to finish, with a superb time of 1:52:04.

Mark Cowan performed admirably to register a time of 1:52:50.

Benfleet’s final representative to complete the difficult course was Kay Markwick.

Markwick crossed the finishing line in 2:23:02.
