A MAN has been charged with several driving offences after fleeing from the scene of a car crash.
The 25-year-old from Southend was arrested on Wednesday, nine days after being involved in a car crash on Anerley Road, Westcliff.
The incident saw a silver Renault Clio he was driving collided with the green Toyota RAV4 of a 59-year-old male from Southend at about 5pm on August 6.
Police started a search for the man who fled the scene before finding him at his home.
He was charged with driving without insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with his licence, driving without due care and attention, failing stop at the scene of a road traffic collision and failing to report a road traffic collision.
The male, who will appear at Southend Magistrates' Court on September 9, was also charged with being in possession of cash cards for fraudulent use.
The Toyota driver sustained minor injuries at the time of the crash.
