Basildon -based double Olympic bronze medallist Max Whitlock received a rapturous welcome when he returned to the Sporting Village, the place that helped make his dream a reality.
Max, 19, looked stunned by the huge crowds that gathered to welcome him as he arrived in Basildon.
After scooping two bronze medals in the men’s team event and the individual pommel horse, Max has become a household name and pin up for hundreds of girls across the country.
He was pictured leaving celebrity nightspots Chinawhite and Mahiki in London last week and enjoyed more than one visit to the biggest McDonalds in the world at the Olympic Village.
