A man was taken to hospital after falling through a ceiling in his house on Tuesday morning.
Paramedics were called out just before 7.30am to the house in Barnard Road, Leigh, to reports of a man in his 70s had fallen through while trying to check a water leak in his loft.
Firefighters from Leigh were called out to assist in getting the man out of the house as access from upstairs was too narrow to carry him down on a stretcher, meaning the male had to be carried out vertically.
He was described by firefighters as conscious but suffering from shock.
