POLICE have begun an operation to crack down on vandals who have repeatedly been targetting a day centre in Basildon.


Local criminals have been entering the Willowbrook Family Centre on Church Road and damaging toys and fencing.


The most recent offence, which took place during the last week of July, saw £70 worth of children's outdoor play equipment damaged.


Investigation officer, Pc David St John, said: "We have stepped up our high-visibility patrols in a bid to deter and identify the culprits."
