A FOOD and nutrition awareness day at the Royals shopping centre hosted by Southend Hospital’s catering management team will urge people to think more about what they eat.
The event, which will take place next Wednesday, July 14 will highlight what the hospital does to ensure that patients get the correct nutrition for their needs as well as focusing on the importance of healthy and nutritious food.
Visitors will be given the chance to sample the hospital’s steamplicity meals as well as trying out a range of fruity smoothies and dietitians will also be on hand to give advice and check visitors’ body mass index.
Companies who supply the hospital with tube feeds and supplements will also be in attendance and there will be refreshments and food-related giveaways.
