THOUSANDS of people flocked to Stanford-le-Hope in the sunshine for this year’s music and street festival.
The event was held at the Billet Recreation Ground over the weekend with the music festival celebrating its tenth birthday.
Terry Piccolo, chairman of the Stanford-le-Hope Community Forum, which organised the music festival, said: “It was a superb day, with no trouble and glorious weather.
“All the groups performed really well. We had at least 4,000 people on the recreation ground.”
Rev John Guest, organiser of Sunday’s street festival, summed up the day as a “fun, community event with a strong sense of being together.”
He added: “It was such a good day, thousands came to the festival and enjoyed it.”
