A sensory garden is giving special needs children at Beacon Hill School the opportunity to smell different kinds of herbs and sit down and listen to stories.
The garden was the brainchild of Stanford-le-Hope and Corringham sixth form students Honor Dignan, 18, and Alex Dames, 17, who built and designed the garden from scratch.
The girls, officially opened the garden at the Erriff Drive school in South Ockendon.
Honor said she and Alex were proud of the project which was part of their society, health and development diploma.
