A DETERMINED family are holding a fundraising day to create a memorial garden for a beloved wife and mum.
Steve Nesbitt, 51, and daughter Paige, 15, are hoping to provide a fitting tribute to Julie Nesbitt, who died of cancer aged 47.
The family decided they would like to create a memorial garden for her at Pitsea Crematorium, and are holding a fun day to raise the £1,200 needed to pay for it.
Steve, of Mountfields, Pitsea, said: “Paige saw a picture of a memorial garden and said that’s what I want for mum.
“I said it’ll cost a lot of money, but she was determined to do it.”
The fun day will take place at Pitsea Mount Community Hall, in Brackendale Avenue, on Saturday, July 10, and will include stalls, games, a raffle and more besides.
Julie, who had been suffering from ovarian cancer for the past four years, died on April 23 after the cancer spread to the rest of her body.
Steve said she will be remembered fondly by family and friends.
He said: “She was a very generous person.
“She always had time for everyone.”
