POLICE have released CCTV footage of two armed robbers who raided a Rochford store two months ago and threatened shop petrified staff with a handgun.

The pair stole a three-figure sum of cash, two bottles of alcohol and several packets of cigarettes from Mace Stores in Ashingdon Road.

A 37 year-old staff member sustained a minor head injury after he confronted the robbers during the incident at 3pm on Tuesday, June 12.

Investigating officer, Dc Ian Ling, said: "We are releasing images of two attackers.
"One of the attackers wore a reflective jacket which may have drawn some attention from members of the public. He was also the man who brandished the firearm. We would ask people to look closely at the faces of the two men and contact us with their names."

The gunman is described as white, in his mid 20s, of slim build and has short, dark brown hair.

His accomplice is in his early to mid 20s and has long facial features.

Anyone with information in connection to the armed robbery is urged to contact detectives at Southend police station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
