It was unbelievable to read that Southend Council is paying a top manager £17,000 per month of our money. That’s more than the Prime Minister earns!
The manager is providing sickness cover. I wonder what council leader Nigel Holdcroft thinks of that. He said they must cut back on consultants and the like. If our local council cannot set an example, who can? I have noticed there is no mention of any reduction in salaries or expenses.
