Rochford parish councillors should hang their heads in shame for objecting to a 12ft by 10ft shed, which would house a few garden tools and outside play equipment for disabled groups.

They are discriminating against disabled children and adults who need the services Disability Essex and its partners provide.

The statement from this pathetic dictatorship is that the shed would be visible from nearby houses.

What a joke! There are only two bungalows to the right of the site, one adult college to the front, and to the left are playing fields.

Perhaps this is where the complaints may come from, where people enter the college grounds to get to the playing fields to walk their dogs and use the field as a dog toilet, a field children use as a play area.

Thank God David Cameron is going to make cuts in local government.

It would be a good idea to start with parish councils and councillors, who spend a lot of time on menial matters, only for the district or borough council to overturn their decisions.

So come on, you councillors, have a heart. Let the users of this facility use the allotment area to grow a few vegetables or flowers and get a bit of pleasure from this, the same way able-bodied people take for granted.

After all, allotments are a national initiative.
