A CAR was damaged and flipped onto its roof in a crash - but miraculously no one was seriously injured.

Police officers were called to the crash on the A13 in Orsett last night.

The road was blocked while the wreckage of the car was dealt with and people were treated at the scene.

Whilst there was no serious injuries, The Thurrock Policing Team have issued a warning on the importance of wearing seatbelts.

A spokesman said: "Fortunately, neither of the drivers sustained serious injuries. This shows the clear importance of why seatbelts are required, to protect YOU!

"We thank the patience displayed in motorists, as the emergency services, highways agency and recovery agents got to work.

"We would also like to extend a special and very big thank you to the members of the public who stopped at scene prior to emergency services arrival, providing first aid and comfort to those involved in the collision."
