Fears rose for victims of domestic abuse after the coronavirus pandemic led to a country-wide lockdown in March.

Figures obtained by the Watford Observer show the number of reports of domestic abuse have steadily increased since August 2015.

Charities such as the Watford Women's Centre have reported a rise in calls since lockdown eased earlier this year.

Nationally, men and women who are living with domestic abuse are being encouraged to seek help now amid fears of a second wave of coronavirus and further lockdown measures.
